By car
Since 01.01.2008 Lichtenfels is connected to the German Autobahn network via the A 73 (Nürnberg - Bamberg [crossing A 70] - Lichtenfels - Suhl). Thanks to the federal roads B 173 and B 289 Lichtenfels is easy to reach from all directions. When you are in Lichtenfels just follow the sign with "Schützenplatz" or "Stadthalle" on it. By train
Lichtenfels' railway station is only 10min of walking away from the city hall. Every hour there are trains from and to Nuremberg, Bamberg / Würzburg, Coburg and Bayreuth / Hof. Every two hours the ICE/IC-train (Intercity Express / Intercity) "Munich - Nuremberg - Berlin" stops at Lichtenfels. The next international airport is in Nuremberg. You can use the underground train U2 to the main railway station of Nuremberg and then take a train to Lichtenfels.
