The Fair Sex

The Fair Sex was founded in 1984 in Essen, Germany. The band started with a classical Rock and Wave line up consisting of guitar-player Lo, drummer A.Bang, keyboarder Blonder, bassguitarist Rascal and singer Myk.
Yet the amount of electronics steadily grew within the band's sound, and in the late Eighties and early Nineties The Fair Sex was quite well known as predecessor in the field of EBM/Gothic, creating a very individual blend of guitars and synth sequences.
Between 1987 and 1995 the band released six full-length-albums and numerous maxi-singles, containing several smash hits that were ever present in Germany's Underground Dark Floor Scene. "The Pain That No-one Knows","Alaska", "Not Now Not Here"
or "Divine Service" are only some of them.
The concerts of The Fair Sex were well-known for their legendary enthusiasm and intensity. In 1995 the band released the DCD "Labyrinth", which features a conceptional Cyber-Opera of fiction and imagination. Afterwards The Fair Sex members decided to create several side-projects such as Testify, 1 AM and Nice Gods Bleed. In 2001 the band returned, playing some gloriously received concerts, followed up in 2002 by two brand-new releases: The MCD "Lost Traces Of The Far Side" and the album "TFS" which reached rank 3 in the German DAC. In spring and autumn of 2002 The Fair Sex toured with Girls Under Glass, The Invincible Spirit and Psyche receiving an overwhelming reaction of the audience. Further releases are being planned for 2003.
