De Nederlandse (en Belgische) overheid heeft alle festivals in de periode 12/03/2020 tot 01/09/2020 vanwege de uitbraak van het coronavirus (COVID-19) verboden. Sommige festivals worden verplaatst naar een latere datum. Andere worden helemaal afgelast door deze maatregelen om de verspreiding van corona in te dammen.

Festivalorganisatoren nemen doorgaans contact op met kaartkopers om de vervangende datum te communiceren of aan te geven hoe zij in aanmerking komen voor een restitutie van de gekochte tickets. Bekijk de officiele site van het festival voor verdere informatie.

Montreux Jazz Festival is een van 's werelds grootste en langstlopende jazzfestivals. Het festival wordt elke zomer wordt gehouden aan de oevers van het Meer van Genève, Zwitserland.

Meer dan 50 jaar na de eerste editie is Montreux iconisch geworden in de festivalwereld als een plek waar niet alleen vooraanstaand, generatie-omvattend jazztalent wordt tentoongesteld, maar ook enorm belangrijke en invloedrijke figuren uit een breed scala aan andere genres.

De erfenis en status van het evenement is min of meer ongeëvenaard door andere, met talloze artiesten die hun Montreux-shows kiezen om te worden opgenomen voor livealbums, en elke editie die meer dan 200.000 bezoekers trok gedurende het twee weken durende programma.

REISINFORMATIE

At the Montreux Jazz Festival, SBB expands its offer by reinforcing regular trains and running special trains. The Montreux train station is only a few minutes' walk from the Festival site.
Line 201 (Vevey-Villeneuve/ Villeneuve-Vevey)
This bus line serves as the shuttle for parking lots 1 to 8 and 11 to 21 during the Festival. VMCV Line 201 is free at the following times:
Monday-Thursday: 6 p.m. – 4 a.m.
Friday: 6 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Saturday: 2 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Sunday: 2 p.m. – 4 a.m.
All other times, normal schedule and price apply.

Line 204 (Montreux Casino – Chailly R+R)
This bus line serves as the shuttle for parking lots A (stop: Chailly P+R) and B (stop: Saussaz).
VMCV Line 204 is free at the following times:
Monday-Thursday: 6 p.m. – 4 a.m.
Friday: 6 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Saturday: 4 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Sunday: 4 p.m. – 4 a.m.

Pyjama Bus
Free Pyjama Buses for Fontanivent, Chernex, Brent, Blonay, St-Légier, Corsier, and Corseaux are in operation on:
Sunday-Thursday at midnight, 1 a.m., 2 a.m., 3 a.m., and 4 a.m.
Friday & Saturday at midnight, 1 a.m., 2 a.m., 3 a.m., 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.
VMCV buses depart the Festival site from bus stop "Vernex" located at the street-level above the stage of Music in the Park.
These free services are kindly offered by the Montreux Municipality.

There are free parking lots on the outskirts of Montreux with free shuttles to the Festival provided by the VMCV bus service.
