Frontman van de Engelse band The Editors, maakt ook solo furore. In eerste instantie in een samenwerking met Razorlight-frontman Andy Burrows, onder de naam Smith & Burrows. Later definitief solo. Eind 2025 brengt Tom zijn debuutalbum 'There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn't There In The Light'.
