Double Vee Concerts
Midden jaren '70 werd Southside Johnny bekend in de Jersey Shore, tegelijkertijd als Bruce Springsteen. Tussen 1976 en 1978 neemt Johnny drie albums, waarvan veel van de nummers ook door Bruce Springsteen waren geschreven. Ondanks dat het muziekblad The Rolling Stone het album Hearts of Stone in de top 100 albums van de jaren '70 en '80 rekende, bleef commercieel succes echter uit.
In 1998 liet Southside Johnny weer van zich horen en bracht het in Parijs opgenomen live-album Spittin' Fire uit. Sindsdien spelen zij wereldwijd.
In de vele jaren van het bestaan van Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes is er al vaak gewisseld van bandleden. De bandleden zijn momenteel: Bobby Bandiera (gitaar), Ed Manion (tenorsaxofoon), Joey Stann (baritonsaxofoon), Chris Anderson (trompet), Mark Pender (trompet), LaBamba (trombone), Jeff Kazee (keyboard), Muddy Shews (basgitaar) en Joe Bellia (drums).
