Tromp Muziek Biënnale, international trumpet competition - festival
From 12 to 19 October 2002 the Tromp Muziek Biënnale will take place in Eindhoven. During this week, the best young professional trumpeters from around the world will compete against each other in the Tromp Music Competition. An international panel of judges has been assembled for this competition, consisting of:
Adolph Herseth, Reinhold Friedrich, Peter Masseurs, Markus Stockhausen, Anneke Hogenstijn and Willem Vos (chairman). Kevin Volans will write a new piece for the finals for trumpet and string quartet and will also take part in the jury during the finals. The finals will include a full orchestra: "Het Brabants Orkest".
The first prize will be a sum of € 35.000 , the second prize € 5.000 and the third prize will be € 2.500

The Tromp Muziek Biënnale, includes also a festival in Eindhoven, consisting of classical, jazz and world music. The trumpet will be the central instrument in the festival as well.
