Band of Skulls

Uit: Southampton - Engeland

Band of Skulls is een driekoppige band uit Southampton, Engeland. Matthew Hayward, Russel Marsden en Emma Richardson ontmoeten elkaar via school. In 2008 ontstaat de band, toen nog onder de naam Fleeing New York. De naam verandert datzelfde jaar nog in Band of Skulls. Het debuutalbum 'Baby Darling Doll Face Honey' verschijnt in maart 2009. Het succes van het album resulteert in 2010 in een tour langs verschillende festivals, zoals Pukkelpop en Lowlands. De nieuwe cd van de band heet 'Sweet Sour'

Band of Skulls is het best te omschrijven als blues/garage rock. Met Emma Richardson en Russel Marsden als leadzangers is het nog het best te vergelijken met The White Stripes en The Kills. Stuwende ritmes, gedreven zang en bluesgitaren vormen de basis van de band.
