Trashfest zal helaas geen doorgang vinden. De voorverkoop is in vergelijking met de voorgaande jaren erg slecht verlopen. Waren er vorig jaar in deze periode reeds 600 tickets verkocht, zijn het er momenteel slechts 150 over de toonbank gegaan. De kosten van het organiseren van Trashfest (de locatie, personeel, veiligheid, etc) nemen ongeveer 60% van de ticketprijs in beslag en op dit moment wordt er ongeveer de helft van daarvan gehaald qua kosten. Genoeg reden voor de organisatie om de stekker eruit te trekken.

prima voor je dat je naar hellfest gaat .. maar dit gaat over een hardcore festival en niet een glam/metal/rock festival

Brent_ Uhm ik bedoel dus oa Magrudergrind, Weedeater, Saviours & Black Cobra. Zouden op Trasthfest staan maar staan ook op Hellfest (zelfde weekend). Beter kijken naar de lineup? Zijn zeker wel overeenkomsten, op hellfest staat ook genoeg hardcore/grind/thrash/whatever.
Verder trouwens megakut voor de organisatie, hoop dat ze niet teveel in de schulden zitten.

03-06: TRASHFEST 15 CANCELLED
''First of all, let me apologise that it has taken us a long time to comment. It's been a hectic couple of weeks for the whole Trashfest organisation, and unfortunately we have a negative outcome today.
This year we will not be able to hold Trashfest. There are two main reasons for this. First of all, the local government issued us a permit to hold the festival at De Buze two months ago. Unfortunately, they failed to inform the local residents, which the law requires them to do. A number of the residents used this mistake by the local government to start a lawsuit to get the permit revoked. They won this case on Friday the 28th of May. Over the weekend we have tried to find another venue in the area, but it has proved impossible at such short notice (two weeks).
Secondly, ticket sales have been poor in comparison to the previous two years at De Buze. At this point last year we had sold 600 tickets, this year we have sold 150. The costs of putting on Trashfest (the venue, staff, security, etc) take up about 60% of the ticket money, and up to this moment the ticket sales do not cover half of that. If we had not lost the venue, we could have continued. If more tickets had been sold, we may have been able to take a risk on venues further away, but we do not have the money to risk.
With both of these happening, it has become impossible for us to do anything other than to cancel Trashfest.
If there was any way we could still hold the festival, we would. Trashfest is a highlight of our summers, and we are as disappointed as anyone that we have been forced to cancel it, especially so close to the date.
Tickets that have been paid by Paypal have already been refunded. The tickets that have been bought by Ticketscript will be refunded at the end of this week,
